Our Story

/ Kedz Consulting

We’re on a mission to create racial equity in our society so that individuals, communities and companies can thrive. We do this by helping forward-thinking organizations improve their culture and performance with coaching, training and consulting services on anti-racism, equity and inclusion.

KEDZ Consulting was founded upon an urgent need for change when Charline Grant and Garth Bobb fought to protect their son, who was facing numerous incidents of anti-Black racism in the education system. When meetings with the school led nowhere, they filed a complaint with the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario and won. In 2017, after a scathing report supported the family’s claims, the York Region District School Board settled the allegation and apologized for failing to properly address systemic racism in their schools. A trustee who used a racial slur against Charline resigned under pressure. The Ministry of Education took control of the board.

Their situation made local and national headlines, yet it was just one of many instances where Charline and Garth noticed a problem, identified a solution and persisted, despite the obstacles, to make a difference.

Charline Grant and Garth Bobb of KEDZ Consulting

"It's inspiring to see the companies and organizations we work with experience transformational change. Equity training is not just a trendy catchphrase; it has the power to transform the lives of people and the culture of an organization."

— Garth Bobb

"My goal as a consultant is to be a voice for the voiceless. Marginalized communities deserve to have their experiences heard and championed in places where decisions are being made."

—Charline Grant
