/ Overview

KEDZ Consulting was founded upon an urgent need to bring about transformational change in institutions and organizations across Canada that have demonstrated an entrenched history of oppression and inequality. We believe that by entering the conversation on diversity, equity, inclusion, and anti-racism, and by taking a holistic approach, we can help ignite an organizational culture shift in the corporations, educational institutions and associations we work with. The entities not only become more equitable, inclusive, diverse and accessible as a result, but stakeholder engagement improves and there is a direct and positive impact on business performance. That is why it is essential the change be led from “the top” in partnership with executive management and senior leaders to bring about lasting transformation.

/ Our 360° Approach

At KEDZ, we use a four-phase equity approach on all our consulting programs and learning sessions. This approach helps build a foundation for success and ensures we acknowledge where our clients currently are in their equity journey and gives them tools to grow and improve.

/ Phase 1

Environmental Scan

We begin by assessing existing policies and practices within an organization through meetings with leaders, employees and stakeholders to identify areas of growth and opportunity. This information then becomes our baseline data used to identify areas of change, including specific actions and targets that will lead to improved outcomes for marginalized groups.

/ Phase 2

Leadership & Capacity Building

Once the Environmental Scan is complete, we can begin training the leadership and staff within the organization. Our training includes an in-depth look into the history of oppression to understand how inequity has been interwoven into society and institutions over the years. Through research-backed studies, we demonstrate the need for change and equip leaders and staff with the tools to create a more equitable and inclusive culture.

/ Phase 3

Consultation Sessions

The next step in our equity approach is consultation sessions designed to identify priorities, goals and accountability measures to firmly root diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility within the organization. This phase helps ensure that systems are created to keep equity front and center.

/ Phase 4

Equity Strategy

Our final step is to help the organization develop an equity strategy that will make the most of its diversity by creating an inclusive, equitable and sustainable culture. This fourth phase provides a roadmap for the future to ensure that continual growth and improvement remains a priority.
